Ocupa una extensi\u00f3n de 1.703 km\u00b2, y tiene una poblaci\u00f3n de 32.741 habitantes.<\/p>\n<p>En lo referente al medio f\u00edsico, tiene una altitud media de 853 m. sobre el nivel del mar. ubic\u00e1ndose en la cuenca sedimentaria situada entre la Sierra de Guadarrama y el p\u00e1ramo castellano, unidad de relieve esta \u00faltima de la que forma parte la zona norte de su territorio. La vasta llanura mesetaria de la zona centro y sur de nuestra comarca est\u00e1 ocupada, en gran parte, por una extensa mancha verde de pinares, caracter\u00edstica visual que condiciona el entorno paisaj\u00edstico de la misma. Debido a las condiciones del terreno, hay zonas donde se forman lagunas y charcas permanentes.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"right\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_BYmzukf9ohg\/SAOnfhKrNAI\/AAAAAAAAAGY\/vLvrkxfL0og\/s400\/tierra-de-pinares.gif\" alt=\"Tierra de Pinares\" \/><\/span>En este territorio se emplazan 72 n\u00facleos de poblaci\u00f3n, organizados en 49 municipios. El de mayor poblaci\u00f3n es Cu\u00e9llar, que supera ampliamente los 9.000 habitantes, seguido de Cantalejo con unos 3.500, y Carbonero el Mayor que supera los 2.000. Otros municipios rondan los 1.000 habitantes, como es el caso de Navalmanzano, Tur\u00e9gano o Fuentepelayo.<\/p>\n<p>La comarca ofrece una variedad de escenarios naturales en los que se integra el elemento humano, cuyo resultado m\u00e1s palpable es la tradici\u00f3n y la cultura de sus gentes, cultura respaldada por la historia y el rico patrimonio art\u00edstico que nos permite viajar en el tiempo.
